For those who are travelling with just a cabin bag in a bid to save money with budget airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair, packing can be tricky. Flights: Can you pack tweezers in plane hand luggage? Cabin bag restrictions revealed
Tweezers can, in fact, be packed in hand luggage and brought on board a plane by passengers.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) lists tweezers as “allowed” in both hand luggage and hold luggage.
Low-cost airline easyJet also confirms this on their website, writing: “You can bring tweezers into the cabin.”
British Airways also refers to the beauty item: “You can take the following items in your hand or checked baggage: tweezers,” BA states.
Ryanair does not list tweezers in its “Permitted Items Onboard” section but the same rules do apply.

Only one cigarette lighter per person can be brought on board, according to current rules.
“You should put it inside a resealable plastic bag (like the ones used for liquids), which you must keep on you throughout the flight,” said the FCO.
However, if you want to take a lighter away, you mustn’t pack it in your hold luggage - it can only travel on your person.
“You cannot put [a lighter] in your hold luggage or put it in your hand luggage after screening,” stated the FCO.

Travellers should also be careful when it comes to packing food in hand luggage. Cheese can confuse some passengers - will it be allowed through airport security in cabin baggage or not?
Hand luggage rules when boarding a plane in the UK mean travellers can’t take any liquids over 100ml.
You may not think cheese is classed as a liquid, but, in fact, the popular dairy product could well be. Soft cheese can melt and therefore turn into a liquid - so airport security counts it as such.
Such soft cheeses include brie, camembert, goat’s cheese, cream cheese and more. Holidaymakers are much better off packing any soft cheeses in their hold luggage to avoid confiscation.
Fortunately, hard cheese is not a problem and can travel in your hand luggage if necessary.
